Lottery jackpot for Lanarkshire befriending group

A Lanarkshire group described as a “second family” has received a £90,000 lottery jackpot to continue its befriending service for young people with additional support needs.Community Volunteers Enabling You, known as Covey, will use the funding to support its weekly mentoring and social sessions for those aged 14 to 24.The Angels young adult group – standing for Additional Needs Gaining Experience for Life Skills – brings together participants and volunteers from local high schools, allowing them to make friends, build confidence and enjoy a range of activities.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
