Fire rips through house in Dumbarton as emergency services race to scene

Fire crews are on the scene of a 'huge' house fire in Dumbarton this evening.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were alerted to the incident at a property in Carmen View in Dumbarton shortly after 3pm on Sunday, January 29.

Police Scotland are also at the scene but there is no information at this stage about any casualties. Concerned locals posted online about the 'huge' fire and said there are a 'large' number of emergency service vehicles in the area.Speaking to the Record the SFRS confirmed they remained in attendance just before 6pm.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ""Around 3.10pm on Sunday 29 January 2023, police received a report of a house fire in Carmen View, Dumbarton."Emergency services are on the scene and Carmen View and Lomond Drive are currently closed."
