A Manchester United fan says he's lucky to be alive after being ‘attacked by a rival footy fan who spotted his Red Devils tattoo’ and broke his jaw on a Turkish family holiday.

Kian Hoey claims he was walking back to his hotel in Marmaris, Turkey, when a man came up behind him and punched him with such force that he broke his jaw on both sides and cracked his teeth.

His mum, Brenda Hoey, said she found him in his hotel room 'covered' in blood after he texted her to say he had been ‘jumped’.

The 19-year-old, who wasn't wearing a United shirt, said he went to a bar with friends on October 3 to watch the UEFA Champions League match that saw Galatasaray beat Manchester United 3-2.
