A sickening tweet mocking the death of a construction worker at a football stadium has been slammed by the Metro Mayor of Liverpool.
The vile post was shared on Twitter, now known as X, shortly after a 26-year-old male died after an incident at Bramley Moore stadium on Monday afternoon.The worker is understood to have suffered severe head injuries around 1pm and sadly died in Aintree Hospital shortly afterwards.
After police confirmed the man's death, one Twitter user took to the social media platform to mock the tragedy, the Liverpool Echo reports.Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram slammed the disgusting post and said there "is nothing to sing about, nothing to celebrate and absolutely nothing funny".
The user ends the vile tweet, which has 52 likes, to say they are laughing at Everton Football Club.In response, Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram said: "Twitter really does appear to encourage the very worst excesses to crawl out from under their rocks.
