Man 'stabbed' outside National Museum of Scotland after rammy at skateboarding event

A man has been rushed to hospital after a suspected stabbing following a skateboarding event in Edinburgh last night. A crowd gathered outside the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street for Pieute Jam before a brawl erupted.Emergency crews were scrambled to the scene shortly after 8pm and a 23-year-old man was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with "serious injuries".

It is understood he was stabbed, reports Edinburgh Live.Officers are now appealing to the public to come forward with any information relating to the incident.

An image shows a number of youths involved in the mass rammy.One eye-witness to the incident said the skateboarding event has run for over a decade without issues before the trouble last night.

The bystander said: "Last night, there was a yearly event on called Pieute Jam where people skate some ramps and the stairs outside the National Museum of Scotland, while hundreds of others sit on the steps and watch. "This event has happened every year for the past 11 years and has been a lovely way for the skate community to come together and celebrate, however last night it broke out in a fight and there was a stabbing.
