Jim Goodwin had a transfer plan in place for Aberdeen that he believes would have made him successful at Pittodrie. But he was sacked before getting the chance to implement it after a horror run in results last January.

The Dons were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Darvel in what was one of the biggest shocks in the competitions history. Perhaps the only other surprise that came close was that Goodwin wasn't axed immediately afterwards.

The Pittodrie side had just been turned over 5-0 at Tynecastle. They then returned to the capital the weekend after the Darvel disaster to face Hibs in a clash that was dubbed "El Sackio," with opposite number Lee Johnson also under serious pressure.

You wouldn't have thought it as the Hibees skelped Aberdeen 6-0 and Goodwin was gone just 19 minutes after the full-time whistle.
