British holidaymakers are being warned that they could be charged up to four times as much to park at the airport if they pay when arriving rather than in advance.
New research from Which? has said that analysis of prices at 16 airports across the UK has shown a "serious financial sting" to travellers, reports Wales Online.
The consumer champion compared prices for a seven day stay in the middle of August that was paid for on the day, and those who paid four months earlier in advance.The largest price difference was found at Manchester Airport, where people paid £406 on arrival, and just £95 if paid in advance.Heathrow Airport also saw a huge gap in price, with £583 on the day compared to £190 in advance.
Birmingham Airport saw £392 paid on the day in comparison with £150 when booked earlier.And finally, Gatwick Airport saw a rise of £74, with £106 paid in advance compared to £180 on the day.Rory Boland, editor of magazine Which?
