The family of a mum left fighting for her life following a horror crash in Spain say it’s a “miracle” she’s still alive. Dawn Maher was on her way to pick up a friend from Alicante airport when she was involved in a head-on smash on October 17.

The 50-year-old was rushed to the intensive care unit where doctors fought to save her legs and she lost four pints of blood.

The mum-of-three, who is originally from Stockport but moved to Alicante several years ago, remained on a ventilator for a week before she was able to breathe on her own.

She suffered breaks and fractures to her neck, arm and ribs and has broken both legs. Incredibly, she sustained no internal injuries. READ MORE: 'The beautician's advice was complete BS.
