Police make arrest after hit-and-run near McDonald's leaves man fighting for life

Officers have made an arrest following a hit-and-run which left a 64-year-old man fighting for his life. Greater Manchester Police says the man remains in a critical condition at hospital tonight (November 3).

It follows a collision near to the McDonald's restaurant on Bolton Road, near the border of Pendlebury and Swinton, in Salford.

GMP says the man was struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at around 6.15pm yesterday. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

In an update, GMP says a 32-year-old man was arrested earlier today, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
