Man found dead in East Kilbride back road as police cordon off area

A man has died after police were alerted to a back road in East Kilbride.The alarm was raised just after 8am on Monday and Stoneymeadow Road, between Blantyre and East Kilbride, was sealed off to the public soon after.There were reports of a 'police incident' in the area but police were quick to provide reassurances that there was 'no wider risk to the public'.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”Stoneymeadow Road has now reopened.
