Body of missing man found in river in Bolton

The body of a man has tragically been found in a river in Bolton four days after he went missing. Craig Hodkinson, 33, was last seen on Churchgate in Bolton at around 5am on Wednesday (September 13).

A number of police appeals to help trace him were shared following his disappearance. An investigation was launched by Greater Manchester Police.

Officers searching for Craig then found a body in the River Coal, in Bolton, at around 4.40pm on Sunday (September 17). His next of kin have now been informed. Detective Inspector Lee Gridley said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Hodkinson’s loved ones at this very difficult time, we would also like to thank members of the public who helped with our investigation by sharing our online appeals.”
