An aspiring doctor who died from hanging attempted to take her own life in the same manner just a month before she passed away in hospital, an inquest has heard.
Lauren Bridges was just 20 when she passed away in February 2022. On the 24th of that month, she was found unconscious in her en-suite bathroom at Priory Cheadle Royal, where she was an inpatient.
She died at Wythenshawe Hospital two days later when life support was withdrawn. Originally from Bournemouth in Dorset, Lauren was admitted to the facility more than 250 miles from home as she had autism and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). It was also said that Lauren attempted to end her life a month before using the same method which claimed her life. Katie Gollop, an advocate for the Dorset University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said to Mr Walsh that there were two incidents at the Priory where Lauren was found with a ligature around her neck, on January 24 and 25, 2022, which he acknowledged.
