A couple who accidentally bought a 120-year-old derelict mansion in Dunoon instead of a flat in Glasgow are offering stays at their home after they transformed the building into holiday apartments.

Cal Hunter and girlfriend Claire Segeren paid £10,000 for the wrong property after a lot numbers mix-up four years ago - but decided to keep it and renovate it themselves.

Then 26-year-old Cal, from Hull, was tasked with putting a bid on a home in Glasgow city centre but accidentally bid on the wrong unit, leaving them with Jameswood Villa - an uninhabitable property in Dunoon. The young couple appeared on BBC One Scotland show Accidental Renovators as they faced a daunting list of problems for the property, which had lain empty for more than 30 years.

The foundations needed repaired, a new roof needed to be installed, masonry above a bay window had collapsed and all the timber works inside the 19th century building were rotten. The couple ignored expert advice to demolish the house and decided to sustainably bring it back to life instead - despite never having renovated before and with just £10,000 in the bank.
