Total investment in the city's social homes is expected to exceed £100m after the council announced a separate £60m energy efficiency program earlier this year, with over 2,100 properties earmarked for upgrades.
Retired mechanic Oliver Slade, who lives in social housing in Manchester, welcomes the investment. The 78-year-old said: “I think this is massive, the home isn’t up to scratch at all.
