Greater Manchester's weather forecast borough-by-borough as heavy rain batters region

Greater Manchester's weather has taken a turn this week with scenes more closely resembling autumn. The region basked in glorious sunshine last week as a heatwave swept the UK.

Temperatures climbed above 30C for seven consecutive days in various parts of the country, while locally people enjoyed temperatures in the high 20s.

But the mercury has plummeted today (September 12) while Greater Manchester is also faced with downpours. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain this morning, covering all of Greater Manchester and other parts of the north and midlands.
