A man who was pulled over after being seen driving recklessly tried to offer an excuse as police discovered he was uninsured.

Officers spotted an Audi A3 being driven 'erratically at excess speed' on Wilmslow Road, in south Manchester, last night (March 19).

After pulling the car over, Greater Manchester Police discovered another issue that sparked concern. Having performed a check on the car, officers found that it was uninsured.

While being spoken to by police, the driver offered up an excuse.
