New Abbey's Shambellie House to host photographic festival
dailyrecord.co.ukShambellie House near New Abbey is to host its first photographic festival from next weekend. Celebrating Women in Photography, will run from Saturday, June 24 to July 6.
And, following a successful call-out for photographic entries, there will be an exhibition of 60 images chosen to be showcased throughout the house, exclusively taken by female photographers, both emerging and professional.
Now a creative centre for photography, arts and crafts, wellbeing, the environment and heritage, Shambellie has a state-of-the-art digital suite on the first floor and, in the basement, a fully-equipped darkroom with eight enlargers.
It is also an ideal location for photography and film, with fabulous historic features, wonderful grounds and amazing landscapes and wildlife on its doorstep.
