West Lothian dad faces £50,000 repair bill for RAAC riddled home
A West Lothian dad could face shelling out £50,000 to repair his home that is riddled with RAAC. Colin Witherspoon, from Linlithgow, says the crumbling concrete is a “disaster waiting to happen” as he fears it could collapse on top of him and his partner as they sleep. The 52-year-old bought his home on Avon Drive in a private sale 22 years after the previous owner had bought the property from West Lothian Council. But Colin, who is a builder by trade, was told the devastating news last year that his home had been built with dangerous reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), Edinburgh Live reports.
