Follow OK! on Threads here: https://www.threads.net/@ok_mag Michael Barrymore has declared that he is "back to my best after 20 years of misery", following a lifestyle overhaul, as he eyes a comeback to his TV career.The former TV star, actor and comedian was once one of the biggest names and faces of British television from the 80s to noughties, when he fronted popular shows such as My Kind of People, Kids Say the Funniest Things and Strike It Lucky.
He even had his own self-titled show, Barrymore, and he also headlined the Royal Variety Performance in 1993, as well as appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, This Morning, The Graham Norton Show and more.
But then a partygoer, Stuart Lubbock, died in the pool at his home, and his career was over. Now Michael has told the Daily Star that he is on the showbiz comeback trail, in his first interview in years.
Michael said: “I went through a period where I wasn’t sure if people would point at me. I dealt with it by realising there is always somebody worse off. “I had a mate who had a seven-year-old son with cancer.
