Tens of thousands of households have been warned that more flooding could occur this week after Storm Babet battered the UK over the weekend.

In England, it is understood around 1,250 properties were affected by flooding while roughly 30,000 properties required extra protection against rising water levels, the Environment Agency (EA) said.

The agency highlighted that more flood warnings will likely be issued in certain areas this week. However, such warnings will most likely not be severe, meaning there won't be a dramatically increased risk of death or serious injury.

It comes after severe flood warnings at the River Derwent, Derby, and the River Idle, East Midlands, were lifted on Sunday.
