Outlander star Sam Heughan 'sad' to be leaving show but admits he's looking forward to one thing

Sam appears alongside former Poldark actress Eleanor Tomlinson, Pennyworth's Jessica De Gouw and How To Get Away With Murder's Alfred Enoch.It comes ahead of filming starting for the eighth and final season of Outlander - the smash hit historical time-travel drama set and filmed in Scotland, which the 43-year-old has starred in for a decade.He hasn’t been able to promote or discuss his work over the past few months due to the Hollywood strikes.
Since actors union Sag-Aftra came to a 'tentative' agreement with studio bosses to end the historic 118-day strike earlier this month, Sam has been flooding fans with details of his upcoming work - and some long awaited sneak peeks behind the scenes at filming for Outlander season seven.Speaking at a recent Q & A to promote the Channel 4 show, Sam said he will be sad to move on from the show that made his name, but he’s “excited” to be able to try new things.He told the Express: “It’s been a decade of my life, probably longer, and it’s been incredible.
It’s changed my life. It’s given me opportunities like this.“It will be bittersweet.“It’s cool to play new characters but it’ll be sad to leave the show.”Sam stars as police officer Danny, married to De Gouw’s character, a yoga teacher called Becka.
