Tomato ketchup is a staple in every household, but a brand new flavour released by Heinz has baffled shoppers. The popular food company recently launched a pickle-flavoured tomato ketchup, and it doesn't seem to have gone down so well with condiment lovers. The new flavour was spotted in Tesco by customer Shauna who took to popular Facebook group Food Finds UK Official to share a picture, along with a 'side-eye- emoji, the Mirror reports.

She wrote: "If you're in Tesco and have a very specific craving."Hundreds of people flocked to the comment section, with one person saying: "How actually dare they?" and another simply said: "I'm offended." A third wrote: "That'll either be insanely good or vile as f***." However, a fourth added: "No chance".

But not all ketchup fans were disgusted. There were many who couldn't wait to try it, with one person even calling it a "game changer".

Another added: "Am being serious, I need it please," while a third said: "I need to try it." Heinz released the ketchup on November 6, and it's said to be the "perfect condiment to take your home cooked meal to takeaway heaven" - and they say it "tastes just like a burger in a bottle". Thiago Rapp, Head of Heinz Comms and Brand Build at Heinz, said: "At Heinz, we've been at the forefront of food innovation for more than 150 years and we're always thinking about how we can play with the unmistakeable taste of our ketchup."We know there are lots of pickle fans out there, so it made sense to bring two of the nation’s favourite flavours, Heinz Tomato Ketchup and tangy pickle, together.
