Family of Southport stab victim condemn rioters' attacks on police who 'stood by our daughter's side'

The heartbroken family of a child injured in the devastating Southport knife attack has condemned rioters targeting police who 'stood by their daughter's side'.

Three young girls tragically died following the stabbings at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, died as a result of their injuries.

Eight other children were injured in the attack, along with two adults. All eight children injured in the attack have now been discharged from hospital - with the eighth child released from the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital today (August 8).

In a moving statement issued by Merseyside Police, her family have thanked those who supported her - including officers who have since been targeted during riots over the past two weeks.
