One moment she was playing computer games, the next they'd lost her forever - now Milly-Rose's family knows why

A happy and healthy young girl who died suddenly after contracting a tummy bug had a rare, undiagnosed genetic condition, it has since been discovered.

The family of Milly-Rose Stirrup was left stunned and heartbroken after she collapsed at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) in February last year and could not be revived.

Just 24 hours earlier she had been well at home playing computer games, having had had the day off school after contracting a bug which had been doing the rounds.

However after a second trip to A+E, six-year-old Milly, from Denton, Tameside, began to rapidly deteriorate with what was initially thought to be sepsis.
