Fans of Strictly Come Dancing have been left upset following the latest exit from the competition. At the end of Sunday night's results show, viewers learned that the journey was over for Angela Scanlon and her professional dance partner Carlos Gu.

The couple found themselves in the bottom two alongside Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzman, but after the dreaded dance off the judges decided it was their time to go.

Head judge Shirley Ballas said she would have saved Irish TV presenter Angela, but it was too little too late as Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood had already opted to save Layton. Angela, 39, said: "It’s been honestly incredible, I’m gutted, really gutted that it’s finished now, but it has been the most wonderful experience." She added that Carlos had "supported me and picked me up and made me laugh so much" and branded him "such an incredible guy".

As the couple took to the dance floor for their final dance to a rendition of Rule The World by Take That, viewers were left 'broken' by the professional dancer's emotional reaction to being kicked out of the competition.
