INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford has attended Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play their first game since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent minority investment was confirmed.
The former British Cycling supremo will be part of Ratcliffe’s inner circle when the £1.3billion purchase passes through regulation tests, with the 59-year-old having already made several trips to Carrington.
Brailsford was seen sitting in the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand to watch United take on Aston Villa on Boxing Day. He and Ratcliffe worked together at OGC Nice, one of two other football clubs owned by INEOS.
Brailsford is set to be joined by former Paris-Saint Germain and Juventus chief Jean-Claude Blanc as INEOS takes sporting control of United.
