Asda has unveiled a £50m store upgrade programme today, aimed at enhancing the shopping experience for customers in larger supermarkets and superstores - including one Greater Manchester area which will see improved stores over the coming months.

The upgrades will include new foyers, seasonal aisles, food-to-go counters, flooring and lighting, as well as new in-store services and features.

The programme, which kicks off at the Long Eaton store in Nottingham, will be rolled out across 170 stores in total and is slated to be completed by the end of November.

As part of this initiative, 50 larger stores will undergo major upgrades, including the introduction of new in-store services and features.
