His close friend, photographer Mary Ann Halpin, confirmed the news this week ‘with a heavy heart. ’Taking to Facebook, she announced she had said ‘goodbye to my sweet friend Brett Hadley. ’‘He has been my friend since I was 19 years old.
We were in an acting class and were the bad kids in the class. We sat in the back and giggled. ’Sharing intimate memories of her childhood friend, she wrote in a heartfelt post alongside a photograph of Hadley in his younger years: ‘I remember us sitting in his coverable WV in front of my apartment in Burbank under a maple tree with the leaves falling into the car.
We were stoned and pretending we were driving through the country. ’Halpin and Hadley had travelled together, he had attended her wedding and they had appeared together in an episode of The Young and The Restless.
The photographer said she would ‘miss his playful and deep conversation, his funny flirty giggle and twinkling eyes. ’Hadley started his career in the 1970s after studying drama at the University of New Mexico, going on to guest role in a number of TV series including The Waltons and a recurring role on Maarcud Welby, MD.
