Deadline is continuing to bolster its formidable international ranks with the hire of respected industry vet Stewart Clarke, recent Creative Director of the Edinburgh TV Festival and former international correspondent at Variety.

Clarke is joining Deadline as SVP, Content, International. Based in London, he will contribute to editorial and work closely with Deadline’s SVP Global Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, Celine Rotterman, and International Features Editor Diana Lodderhose, to help grow Deadline’s international business opportunities.

Clarke, who starts Monday (Dec 11), will report to Deadline’s President Ellie Duque and collaborate with the overseas team, including International Editor, Andreas Wiseman, who oversees international editorial. “Stewart’s unique background as a seasoned trade reporter and accomplished festival executive makes him a perfect addition to Deadline’s formidable international team,” said Deadline co-editors in chief Nellie Andreeva and Mike Fleming, Jr. “He had been on our wish list for awhile, and we can’t be happier for him to join our ambitious global expansion.” Since 2020, as Creative Director of the Edinburgh TV Festival, Clarke has worked with an array of broadcasters, producers, streamers, and industry partners to oversee the program and year-round events of the high-profile UK TV event.

He steered the festival, the largest of its kind in the UK, through two digital years during the pandemic, and then its comeback year as a live event in 2022 and this year’s edition.
