As he began to belt out Maggie May, some fans thought that it could be the real Rod performing in front of them as they believed the Hoops-daft rocker could be in Glasgow ahead of Celtic's clash with Dundee on Wednesday night.

Fans took to social media to hail the apparent PR stunt. One wrote: "rod stewart at the snuts?!???!???"While another added: "ur telling me i’ve just seen rod stewart at the barras at the snuts gig????
