Tim Burgess is to receive special recognition at the first ever Northern Music Awards in Manchester next month. The lead singer of The Charlatans will be handed the Northern Music Award 2024 during the awards ceremony at Albert Hall on April 23.
The event, from music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins, will also see Lisa Stansfield and Spice Girls star Melanie C receive the Northern Icon Award and Special Recognition Award.
The ceremony will feature performances by Lisa, alongside Courteeners frontman Liam Fray, indie hip hop artist Antony Szmierek, Leeds quartet English Teacher and Warrington-based band The K’s.
