Based on true events, the show recounts the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11 and the small Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives. The show will be stopping at The Lowry in the winter and will play for a month from December 3, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Penned by Irene Sankoff and David Hein alongside director Christopher Ashley, Come From Away debuted on Broadway in 2017 before gracing the West End stage in 2019, earning a prestigious Tony and Olivier Awards.
