With Scotland's sunny spells due to end next week, parts of the country will be battered with heavy winds.A Yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for Tuesday April 11, lasting until Wednesday April 12.
The latest alert is widespread across the west of the UK, stretching from Northern Ireland to southern Wales.Scots in the southwest are expected to be blasted with winds of up to 60pmh which may cause delays for rail, road air and sea transport.
Wind could make power outages possible, while sea fronts and coastal communities likely affected by sea spray and large waves.Easter Sunday will see dry and clear conditions across Scotland for most of the day.
However, this fine weather is predicted to turn by this evening to "blustery" rain showers, lasting well into next week.High pressure that brought sunny skies this week is to be replaced by a westerly Atlantic regime, bringing bouts of wind and rain first over Northern Ireland than Scotland this evening.Moving to next week, wet and windy weather will continue thanks to fronts bringing bouts of rain on Monday and Tuesday.
