Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has rubbished fears that he has any fresh injury or fitness concerns ahead of Sunday's huge Premier League clash with Manchester United at St James' Park.
Isak, who joined the Magpies from Spanish side Real Sociedad last summer for a club-record fee of £63million, featured twice for Sweden during the international break, starting last Friday's 3-0 defeat to Belgium and Monday night's 5-0 win over Azerbaijan.
Although he failed to get himself on the scoresheet, he did store 73 and 71 minutes under his belt, respectively. The striker has faced his fair share of injury troubles this season, meaning he has been restricted to just 15 appearances for the Magpies since his August arrival.
However, just prior to the international break he did show signs that he appeared to be over the worst of his difficulties. READ MORE: United player ratings of the season so far as duo shine After scoring in Newcastle's 2-1 win over Wolves, he netted a brace, including a last-gasp winner, against Nottingham Forest the following weekend, meaning he will head into Sunday's clash with Erik ten Hag's side with three goals in his last two matches.
