ok.co.ukReality TV star Keith Nale passed away at the age of 62 on Wednesday afternoon following a battle with cancer for a “few months.” The former firefighter from Shreveport, Louisiana, first appeared on the screen during season 29 of Survivor in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, in 2014.The American TV series sees contestants dropped into isolated, often daunting areas, where they complete mental and physical challenges in the hopes of winning the grand prize of $1 million.
Keith also starred in season 31 of the show in 2015, which was hosted in Cambodia. Keith’s son, Wes, confirmed his father’s death with Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, where he revealed that his father had been battling cancer.
Wes said: “He passed away this afternoon. He'd been battling cancer for the past few months and we found out about it in January.” Keith’s brother Kevin Nale also said: “A life taken way too soon!
It happed so quickly. Cancer ate him up. He Passed this afternoon at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana.” Fans, friends and followers have been reacting to the sad news on social media, with former contestant Kelley Wentworth penning: “Keith - a man with the purest heart, who brought humor into moments where it was needed most. “I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet Keith & share memories together on the beaches of Nicaragua & Cambodia.
