MSP calls for clarity on £62m East Kilbride dual road upgrade plans

East Kilbride’s MSP has written to the chief executive of South Lanarkshire Council for an update on the £62.2 million Stewartfield Way upgrade proposals.In March 2020, the local authority scaled back their plans to dual the entire length of the road, as well as removing plans for a flyover at Kingsgate.Plans to dual the full length of Stewartfield Way were deemed “too transport focused” and not focused on the economic development outputs or the climate emergency.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
