Autumn has arrived but that does not mean the possibility of summer-like weather has ended. Instead, during the first few days of September Scotland has enjoyed a warm spell, with temperatures above average for this time of year.

This is due to an area of high pressure sweeping across the country, causing temperatures to spike, according to the Met Office.

And the pleasant weather is set to stick around a little longer, forecasters say. According to a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the Met Office said: "Temperatures will be notably above average for many of us over the coming week.

We could even climb towards 30°C in parts of southern England - something we haven't seen since 7 July."The post reinforces hopes of an Indian Summer across Scotland and the rest of the UK, with temperatures to reach 25C in parts this coming week.
