Man dies in horror crash as eight injured including three children

A man has died in a two-car crash which injured eight people including two children. Emergency services were called to the horror collision at the junction of Drews Lane and Wardend Road in Birmingham, just after 6pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 6.A huge emergency response was dispatched to the scene involving four ambulances from West Midlands Ambulance Service, alongside two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, two critical care paramedics, and the Trust's Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

A man in the first car was found in a critical condition. After being removed from the vehicle with the assistance of fire colleagues, ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.She added: "Two men from the same car were treated for injuries not believed to be serious and both were conveyed on blue lights to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment."
