Glasgow City Council has hit out at the "unacceptable" behaviour of some Celtic fans after huge crowds gathered to celebrate the club's third title in a row.Thousands of Hoops diehards flocked to the city centre after their heroes lifted the SPFL Premiership trophy at Parkhead, following a 3-2 win over St Mirren. While the majority of jubilant supporters celebrated respectfully, there were some outbreaks of violence, with shocking footage showing one man being knocked unconscious with a single punch on the Trongate.Mounds of litter were also left strewn across the streets, with piles of empty booze cans, bags, other rubbish, and broken glass covering much of the area around Glasgow Cross.
As green pyro smoke filled the air, a number of fans scaled the mercat cross building, as well as bus stops and traffic lights, to get a better vantage point to watch the celebrations.
This, however, has caused significant damage to the street infrastructure. As the thousands of Celtic fans drifted away, Glasgow City Council teams were forced into a rapid clean-up, with the Cancer Research UK Race For Life taking place on Sunday morning.
The race route included Glasgow Green, Saltmarket, and Trongate - all of which had been thronged with Hoops fans just hours before.
