Family of aid worker shot when 'gunfight' broke out at holiday resort say they're still searching for 'basic answers'

The family of an aid worker shot dead when 'armed bandits' stormed a castle in Nigeria say they feel 'badly let down' and are still waiting for 'basic answers' over her death four and a half years ago - after a coroner ruled she was unlawfully killed.

Relatives of Faye Mooney have now made a direct appeal to the new Foreign Secretary David Cameron to help them 'get as close to Faye’s truth as possible.' Faye, 29, from Didsbury, and her boyfriend Matthew Oguche, a fellow aid worker, were fatally wounded at a luxury holiday resort in the country where they were taking an Easter break. A coroner has now ruled she was unlawfully killed. He said the motive for the attack was 'unclear' but ruled their was 'no evidence that this was terrorism related.' He also said there were 'no failures or shortcomings' by the aid agency which contributed to her death.

Faye, described as an 'altruistic, kind and caring' person and a 'true humanitraian' was an aid worker who had an extensive career in international development including work in Iraq and the Balkans.
