BBC EastEnders fans spot 'incest' blunder - claiming 'writers forgot'
ok.co.ukEastEnders viewers have caught an 'incest blunder' in a storyline on the soap, saying 'the writers forgot' about who was related.
On Thursday, 15 February's episode there was plenty of drama, but fans pointed out a big flaw in the storyline. During the episode, Johnny Carter was talking to Ben Mitchell about Dean Wicks in the cafe – and how they could stop him causing trouble for his mum, Linda.
Dean has a recording of Linda saying she lied about him attacking her. Ben said to Johnny: "Find that recording saying that she lied." Johnny answered with a joke: "Yeah, yeah I'll just go ask him." Then Ben suggested: "Well give him a bit of the Johnny Carter charm." Johnny – who came out to his dad Mick back in 2014 – joked in response: "He's straight." Ben replied: "Well there's always a first." But Johnny's joke raised a few eyebrows with show fans.
On an EastEnders Facebook group, someone noticed that Dean is actually Johnny's uncle. That person wrote: "Anyone else found it weird when Ben told Jonny to charm Deano and Jonny replied with 'he's straight' instead of 'that's incest' as that is his bio uncle.
