A woman has said she “nearly died” when a blister on her foot became so badly infected she could not walk, Hull Live reports.
Charlie Beardshall-Moore, from Hull, said she feared only major surgery could get her life back on track after years of suffering.
The 23-year-old said the blister first appeared in January 2021 while she was wearing trainers. She noticed it had become infected and was growing in size and oozing pus.
She visited a number of hospitals in and around Hull and received advice from specialists, but the wound never healed. It became apparent that the infection was getting worse, she said. READ MORE: Woman, 24, dies just weeks after developing cold and flu symptoms Her symptoms apparently baffled doctors and she could only “get a minute of relief from medication.” Charlie said she nearly lost her life after suffering with sepsis. “I nearly died last year because of it, because the infection was getting that bad that I was getting dizzy and passing out,” she added.
