StarWars.com on Tuesday with the added info that Jon Favreau will direct with Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Dave Filoni producing.The Mandalorian film, titled simply The Mandalorian & Grogu, will go into production in 2024.“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” said Favreau on the site. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen,” added Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.Related: New trailer lands of The Mandalorian season three The film is just one of a bunch of features set in the Star Wars universe to be amping up into some sort of stage of production this year, including works from the likes of Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni.There are currently three series of The Mandalorian on the streaming service Disney +, and is just one of many successful Star Wars series that includes Ashoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book Of Boba Fett.Exciting times.
