Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft has revealed how much the show is helping her after the death of her late husband, Mel Coleman.
Mel tragically died earlier this year at the age of 60, after being diagnosed with stage three cancer just eight weeks earlier.The couple were married for 30 years, and now former tennis star Annabel has explained that taking part in Strictly has stopped her "dark thoughts." Appearing on Lorraine alongside her dance partner Johannes Radebe, Annabel said: "It’s been nice to do something joyful and use my body and try to rest my brain from thinking too many dark thoughts." However, the 57 year old explained that her husband was a huge fan of the dancing show.
Annabel and Johannes have managed to dance their way through to week three after they danced the Cha Cha in the first show and scored 28 out of 40.
In week two, the pair performed a Quickstep to Walking On Sunshine by Katrina & The Waves, and that routine bagged them a score of 22, which was enough to see them through without the dance off.Their success could be down to the strong bond that they have created, and as part of that when they are training, the pair have a special ritual, which Annabel explained: "We’ve both got a sweet tooth.
