Around 100 people braved the cold in Broxburn at the weekend when they spent the night outside to raise money for charity.The Sleep Rough event was organised by Steps for Hope and supported by Scottish singer Callum Beattie, who raised spirits as the temperatures dropped with an intimate performance for participants.Richard Roncero, the founder and director of the charity Steps to Hope, is taking the project to eight different areas in eight weeks.A spokesperson said: “We invited volunteers, graduates and the general public to join us at Hope House for a sleep rough with Callum Beattie and his manager Dave Rodgers who are patrons for Steps to Hope.“We had 105 people take part in this event and not only have we raised over £35k it also gave a small insight into what it is like to be living on the streets.
