A dad has slammed a Glasgow hospital after his son was left beaten and bruised in a horrific attack by another patient.Daniel Paton, 37, was battered with a pool cue in the Portree Ward at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow in April. He suffered a broken nose and two black eyes after the violent incident at the unit, where he is currently receiving psychiatric care. His dad, Daniel Galbraith, 55, has now hit out at the facility, claiming that only one member of staff was supervising the room when the attack took place and that it could have been prevented.Daniel Snr, from Glasgow, told the Record: "The attack was completely unprovoked.

But they were standing there with pool cues in their hands and there was only one person about to look after them. That staff member then left to get help."While they were away, my boy was getting his face smashed in.

And for how long? I don't know."He had to be taken for treatment. He had cuts above his eyes and his nose was broken. He was left with bruising for about ten days after it."I was shocked when I saw the state he was in.

I've made so many complaints but I feel like I'm being ignored."They said they responded immediately, but Daniel sustained injuries.
