It read: “You traded immortality for mediocrity. Never a Celt, always a fraud.” In response to Rodgers returning to Celtic on a three-year deal this week, the fan group reiterated their feelings by posting a reminder. But Jordan has told them to get real and get over it now that Rodgers is back.
The talkSPORT co-host acknowledged that fans never want to see successful bosses leave, but the realities of football mean there’s always going to be someone offering more money and and a bigger stage.
Jordan has challenged Rodgers to make more of a mark in Europe than Ange Postecoglou did, citing Rangers’ run to the Europa League final last year as a perfect example to try and follow. On the reaction to the appointment, Jordan said: “He’ll have priced that into his thinking and they’ll have thought of that brand of resistance.
