A suspected 2am arson attack on a house is being investigated by detectives today, police have revealed. Greater Manchester Police said its officers and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to Laithwaite Road in the Worsley Hall area of Wigan at just before 2.30am on Saturday morning.

We just don't know where it's going" The Manchester Evening News understands no one was inside the property at the time. Police today launched an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, confirming the incident was being investigated as a 'suspected arson'.
No arrests have been made as yet and inquiries are continuing. In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers responded to reports of a suspected arson incident outside a house on Laithwaite Road in Wigan at around 2.20am this morning (Saturday 2 March). "Colleagues from GMFRS also attended and put out the fire.
