Police close road in city centre after crash between bus and car

Police closed a road in Manchester city centre on Tuesday afternoon (March 20) following a collision between a bus and a car.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police, along with paramedics, attended the crash on Bloom Street, in the Gay Village, shortly after 3pm.

Pictures from the scene showed a police car blocking the road to traffic in both directions after the collision, which has been confirmed to have been minor. The driver of the car involved was reported for driving without due care and attention. Police and paramedics had been called to the incident, near to The Eagle bar, at 3.15pm.
