A popular Perth venue has had its planning appeal rejected and will have to remove its outdoor terrace.Centre Global Ltd launched an appeal for the planning permission given for the outdoor terrace outside That Bar and The Loft to be extended beyond October. But Perth and Kinross councillors have unanimously voted to uphold the decision made by PKC's planning department in March this year.Centre Global Ltd sought permission to appeal a planning condition for the outdoor seating area at its 145-151 South Street establishment to stop being in use by Monday, October 2 and to be removed by Friday, October 6.The appeal went before councillors on PKC's Local Review Body for consideration on August 14.Permanent planning permission remains in place for the seating area at the immediate front door but the appeal concerned the temporary planning permission for the newer seating area on the road in front of the bar and nightclub. In its appeal, Centreglobal Ltd said it was "disappointed" to learn in March the time-frame of the consent had been reduced.

The applicants said there had been positive feedback about the seating area and considerable investment made in providing it.The appeal statement said: "They have received many positive comments from customers, council officials and the public in general, including many tourists visiting from outwith Perth, on how good the parklet looks and enhances the area giving a very continental look and feel.

They have also had positive feedback from wheelchair users who can access the seating area as a result of the level access."The applicants have invested heavily in the streetscape feature, with the installation of high quality gazebos, lighting and decking to level-off the potential trip
